Formed by members of Sutcliffe Jugend and Whitehouse, Bodychoke was a noisy rock anomaly as powerful and provocative as its name would suggest. The bands long out-of-print final album, the bleak and depressing creative apex known as Cold River Songs, has been given the deluxe reissue treatment; the album is remastered to include 3 bonus tracks and repackaged to include first-ever printing of the bands incendiary lyrics. 1999. The band released 4 albums during their time.
Their music expressed themes of hate and disgust, as well as sexual perversion and death. The band's style is hard to categorise, a combination of noise rock, post-rock, industrial music and even gothic rock elements.
